Q: How is climbing a mountain relevant to working at a gas plant or mine site?
A: The goal is to make it home safely at the end of each day.
Any mountain is a remote and harsh environment, with dangers lurking around every corner. Climbers live in one another's pockets over the course of a month-long expedition, enduring potentially life-threatening conditions on a daily basis, before flying home again and returning to 'normal' everyday life. Sound familiar?
As a high-altitude mountaineer and expedition leader I am responsible for the lives of my team members – just like you are. I present safety in a positive and entertaining way for a conference, safety expo or stop-work meeting.
